As the opening date for Glasstec 2012 in Düsseldorf nears, we are compelled to examine, once again, the macroeconomic situation and, especially, the outlook for the glass market.

There are weak but convincing signs of recovery in North America and a tangible but uncertain stability in the rest of the world. Monetary measures by the authorities who exercise control over financial flows were bold and designed to stimulate consumption and investments, while at the same time, trying to promote global order in the marketplace.
The beneficial effects of these decisions on industrial production and global commerce have not yet been felt, but should not be long in coming. We should still expect a slow recovery, but the final scenario could include a very strong recovery of investments (aimed at recouping lost time) that will drive an equally strong rally in consumption.

Fenzi plans to continue its policy of investments and countercyclical development, confident that this optimistic scenario will soon be a fact. In the meantime, we look forward, as always, with pleasure to Düsseldorf and the industry professionals who will arrive from five continents with the firm conviction that an international trade show is the not-to-be-missed appointment for anyone (exhibitors and visitors) who is ready to make a positive contribution to the world of glass.
