It took slightly more than 2 years to complete, heavy investments and most importantly a good dose of courage and business spirit given the economic and financial turmoil in world markets over the past two years: we are talking about the new, recently-inaugurated Glass Alliance facility which is now operating at full capacity.

The new industrial facility located in Lipetsk on the outskirts of Moscow is where the two Glass Alliance companies -- OOO Fenzi and OOO Alu-Pro – produce and distribute the Thiover polysulphide sealants and Alu-Pro aluminum profiles respectively. The products are known and popular among IG producers around the world. Both production lines have been set up to deliver the same characteristics and most importantly the same quality standards already achieved in other production facilities around the world. This will allow for the production of excellent quality IG, obtaining exactly the same results that customers have always been accustomed to when using sealants and profiles imported directly from production centers in Italy or Europe. This was of course the main objective of the two companies: the entire Russian market offers enormous business potential, because of the significant housing needs that are typically found in countries like Russia with a fast-moving economy and lifestyle, and because of the climate which significantly increases the need  for thermal insulation and therefore energy savings. The guarantee of complete reliability and superior quality is a must-have in order to become a stable partner of this leading IG producer, who can now also rely on the obvious benefits that local production can assure, such as readily available products, fast delivery and on-going assistance.

The results of these approaches can already be seen. Four production lines for aluminum profiles have been set up and are already operating at full capacity. These will soon begin working round the clock for 24-hour production. Market response has been enthusiastic to say the least, with demand covering the entire production capacity in the short term. Growing demand will probably lead to further developments, but this depends on how things go next year. In fact, something similar is happening with Thiover, which started being produced some months later but for which demand has been rising sharply. Excellent news for the 100-plus employees that will be working at the two companies when at full capacity.

Another important piece of news is that having the facility at Lipetsk is an additional advantage. This area is the only special economic zone inside the Ural Mountain border: this area is a veritable model of efficiency and is attracting significant investments from all across the globe. Exactly where the Japanese company Yokohama has just recently set up a new facility.
