Newsletter 1-2012

We were not far off when last autumn we predicted a difficult winter for the world of glass and windows, due to the reduced growth rate of businesses all over the world. Predictions were for a very low growth rate until spring 2012 if not outright recession. Everything came to be as predicted, pushing the major central banks in the macro economic zones to inject a great deal of liquidity into the system, with all of the risks involved over the medium-long term, just to get supply and demand started up again. No one today can with any certainty foresee if these exceptional financial measures will have the power to bring the economy back to normal (the optimistic view of those who feel that this last period was just a temporary crisis within a global trend of growth and development), or will only put off for a few years the final countdown for a world that has progressively detached itself from the real economy, thereby falling into a downward spiral of self referential and potentially destructive financial parameters. Fenzi is an important industrial concern, strategically positioned in every continent, a champion of the old economy, of the manufacturing industry and the generation of real value added. Therefore, we are worried when we see macroeconomic financial measures that go well beyond traditional strategies of healthy economic management. But we are equally and incurably optimists in believing that world demand will start up again soon in every major geographic area of the world. As always, we will be in the front lines ready to supply the markets with ever more innovative and performing products. This is not only a prediction for the near future but also a wish of good tidings for all of our trading partners.
